An overview of Grandfather mountain in North Carolina

Without the hassle of being truck tugged, completing our Asheville Whitewater rafting was quite adventurous. And that is certainly not an easy job. The truck helping in the initial journey is merely a 6 cylinder, tugging about 3,200 pounds. So cheers to you all for even trying it! This thirst for adventure brings us to the Grandfather Mountain , a mountain near the North Carolina State Park. At 5,946 feet, this is the highest peak of the eastern territory of the Blue Ridge Mountains, being one of the main chains of the Appalachian Mount During the American Civil War, the mountain served as a safe haven for groups of men leaving to join the army. After the warfare, many men returned and settled in this town with their families. With the passage of time, the scenic mountainous beauty of the region became a regular holiday spot for guests from nearby areas, and also travellers from afar, and remains one of the prime locations for vacationers and outdoor aficionados in the Grand
